Once the storm had cleared enough for them to get back to base camp things got a little boring for them. Satellite message - 3rd day snowbound, send more messages, miss u luv u very safe. The three guys were stuck in a tent that was only large enough for the three of them to lie down side by side. It was too cold outside and snowing heavily that they were forced to stay in their tent. They passed the time playing games, reading, sleeping and eating. It got very smelly in the tent as the only place to dry out wet gear was in their tent and freeze dried food makes you very gassy! Later that evening my message read - summit all but gone. Altogether the guys spent 5 days in the tent and they figured about 5 ft of snow had fallen. On the 5th day they could start to venture outside. Now they had to wait for the weather to clear up so that they could call the helicopter to come and pick them up. On the 6th day they woke up to clear skies and called in for a helicopter. Then shortly after they called back to cancel as a storm was moving in again. The pilot came anyways as he had the weather report and knew that if he didn't come and get them that day they might be stuck there for up to 2 weeks. They had 2 sponsors, Trev's company and the Saskatchewan climbing club. They were going to leave the sign and flag at the top but had to bring them home with them. Trev, Steve and Drew were not able to summit but there is already talk of another expedition to the Yukon in 2009.
