We have two high efficiency furnaces which means that they cannot have a grate that covers where they vent outside. Noah had a friend over one day and they played in the backyard for the entire afternoon. A few days later we were woken up by a weird banging noise and Trev located the noise to be coming from inside the basement furnace and shut it off. The next morning he discovered that there was rocks in the vents. Today we had the furnace guy come and not only was there a rock in the fan but it had damaged the fan and blown a hole into the side of the case that surrounds the fan. Luckily it was our basement furnace and not our big furnace for the rest of the house but also kind of sad as we now have to repair a furnace that is practically brand new!
